About The Well-Organized Mind

Hi, my name is Emily…and I’m an Excel Spreadsheet Addict.

Hi Emily!

So, once upon a time, there was a tween-aged girl named Emily.  She was moderately chunky, with mousy brown hair, a big mouth, and a secret obsession.  Every year after she went Trick-or-Treating with her skinny, cute, endearingly normal friends, she refused to trade candy after dumping out their hauls.  In fact, she could not wait to go home with her Halloween candy and begin work on … her annual Halloween candy spreadsheet.  No, that is not a typo.

While several computer crashes in the 15 or so intervening years have denied (or spared, depending on your perspective) the world the glory of these vintage Emily spreadsheets, the obsession is still going strong.  I am pretty much of the opinion that if you haven’t managed to reduce something to a well-organized chart, it’s probably not worth doing.

In this space, I intend to share my organizational obsessions with you all and help you embrace whatever level of anal-retentiveness will make you happier, neater, more productive, and better documented than you have ever been before!  I can’t promise every piece of your life will magically fall into piece once you organized it.  But then again…it can’t hurt to try, right?

Come, join me in creating a well-organized mind, starting with a well-organized life!
